I often hear from women who are trying to conceive a boy baby. Some of the more common topics are foods, nutrition, and diet. Most people suspect that what you eat can have an impact over which gender you ultimately conceive. This perception is true. Making yourself more acidic in one way to do this. So to recap, for a girl you want to be acidic and for a boy you want to be alkaline.

The Alkaline Foods To Eat When You’re Trying To Get Pregnant With A Baby Boy: Basically, you want to consume alkaline rather than acidic foods. And, you don’t want to place any caloric limitations on yourself because studies have shown us that a higher number of calories favors producing boy babies. (However, the statistics aren’t so compelling that you need to put on any weight in order to achieve this.)

Now generally speaking, you will sometimes hear that fruits and vegetables are alkaline while meats and dairy are acidic. This is true for some of the foods in both categories, but there are always exceptions to this rule so it’s important to be careful. (And it’s even better to test this out for yourself.) For example, while lemons and watermelon are examples of highly alkaline fruits and vegetables, blueberries and plums fall into the acidic category.

Some examples of fruits and vegetables that are desirable and alkaline are things like apricots, spinach, raisins, lima beans, peaches, carrots, cucumbers, lettuce and tomatoes, and cantaloupe. Some examples of acidic foods that you want to avoid are things like blueberries, asparagus, whole grains and bread, corn, cheeses, milk, nuts, and many meats.

The Cooking And Metabolizing Process Can Affect Whether A Food Is Alkaline Or Acidic In Your Particular Case: There are many things that affect whether a food is ultimately acidic or alkaline to the particular person who is eating it. Examples are things like it’s freshness or ripeness and whether it is cooked or not. Also, some foods start out acidic but become alkaline once they are metabolized in the body. Lemons are one example. (But this applies to lemons that were fresh when picked. Things get a bit dicey when the fruit is picked when not yet ripe and then ripens in the store.)

A good food list is a great place to start, but you can typically do even better than this by testing to make sure that you are getting the reading and reaction that you need to get the baby boy that you want. Also, adding douching to the changes in your diet can often bring about more dramatic results.

I often tell people that making guesses when you are trying to chose your baby’s gender is the absolutely worst thing that you can do. Guessing about your ovulation day or whether you have a an acidic or alkaline reading is not optimal, especially when you can easily check these things to make sure that you are right. The testing strips are inexpensive enough that you really should try to incorporate them into your regimen.

Taking It Even Further: Acidity is important. But, you will also need to look at when and how you conceive. The timing of when you conceive (as this relates to ovulation) and which sexual positions that you use can also affect your baby’s gender. So, you will likely also want to look at timing and positioning as well as the foods that you consume and your diet.

                Chronic fatigue is becoming a way of life for many people in today’s fast paced society. We blame it on many things; increased workloads, longer working hours, longer commutes and, not incidentally, on the increased stress brought about by all of these things. But did we ever consider that what we are eating may play a distinct role in our collective exhaustion?

                The Effects of Acidity and Alkalinity on the Body

                To understand the difference between acidity and alkalinity one must first understand what an alkali is. An alkali is the ionic salt of an alkaline earth metal or earth metal element. These salts have a pH of greater than 7.0 and easily dissolve in water On the other hand, something that is acidic is derived from an acid; a chemical mixture which has a pH of less than 7.0 and, when it’s dissolved in water, it produces a compound with a high hydrogen ion activity. When we take into account the fact that everything that we eat or metabolize produces either alkaline or acidic bases into the bloodstream depending on its constituent components, as well as the fact that the human body achieves optimum performance at a pH level between 7.33 and 7.4, it makes sense to say that a diet that leans towards alkaline foods makes the most sense when we’re looking to achieve optimum health.

                If that is not enough, consider the fact that the human body is composed of roughly 75% water. Alkaline bases dissolve easily in, and are easily absorbed by water, unlike acidic bases which, while they break down in water, leave what is known as an acidic residue which can build up and eventually cause bodily functions to slow down (hence that tired feeling) and sometimes even to malfunction or shut down altogether. Also, if the body’s pH goes too far below 7.0 (acidic) the body will find a way to counter it. It will borrow from internal alkalinity sources, usually minerals such as calcium, magnesium or potassium which it will leech from the bones. Depletion of calcium is one of the key causes of osteoporosis. Plaque is another problem of a diet high in acidic foods. Plaque can take the form of plaque on the teeth but also plaque in the arteries, which is a primary contributor to heart attacks.

                But even without the major concerns like osteoporosis or heart disease, high acid levels have been shown to encourage the growth of bacterial, viral or even fungal infections, all things that we could easily keep under control if we were to maintain the optimum pH balance. Keeping all of this in mind it an alkaline diet may sound perfectly reasonable, but there is just one major problem; the average diet of western society produces high levels of acid. It is a diet that we have grown accustomed to over the last 100 years and which takes some determination to change, but once it has been adopted has proven to yield phenomenal improvements to one’s overall health.

                What Constitutes an Alkaline Diet?

                There are two ways to increase one’s pH balance: eating more alkaline-rich foods, and decreasing acidic-based foods. The optimum solution is of course to do both until your body has maintained the optimum pH balance. But first it is important to know what your body’s current pH balance is. This is easy enough to do by purchasing urine or saliva test strips at most any drug store. Remember, you are aiming for a pH balance between 7.33 and 7.4. Roughly speaking, a balance between alkaline and acidic can be maintained by eating approximately 75% alkaline-rich foods and 25% acidic foods. High alkaline foods include things like most all vegetables and fruits (though it is recommended that fruits be eaten in moderation), non-dairy and non-meat proteins (with the exception of cottage cheese, chicken breasts and eggs) and drinks such as koumbacha, herbal or green tea.

                Unfortunately, high acidic based foods include things like all meats, almost all grains, sugars and sweeteners, butter, cheeses and all alcoholic drinks (complete lists of high-alkaline and high acid foods can be found online).

                Strangely enough, even water is not immune to the western tendency towards acidity. Tap water in particular has been shown to have a high acid content thanks to the additives that are put into the water to make it safe for drinking. Drinking bottled water or water that has been ionized by a water ionizer such as those made by Chason Water have been shown to bring the pH level of water to a more alkaline level.

                A Balancing Act

                The good news is that while we may have subjected our bodies to years of acid abuse; abuse that is coming to light as increased infections and chronic fatigue; we can undo the damage by bringing the body’s pH balance back into alignment. Optimum health is a delicate balancing act, but with practice, all of us can learn to walk the wire.

                        The significance and wide acceptance of acid and alkaline in pH miracle diet is that it helps to maintain the balance of pH level in our diets. It is better to eat alkaline diets for the benefit of our body as the human body is slightly alkaline while over consumption of acidic foods make the body system to be unbalance and this results into a lot of complicated health problems, such as, lack of concentration, weight gain, fatigue and immune depression leading to more severe situations in the body.

                        A list of the acidic foods and alkaline foods is heavily relied upon by pH miracle diet, so that you know what to avoid and what to emphasize upon. To be healthy and maintain the normal pH balance level of the body emphasis must be more on alkaline diets than acidic diets.

                        The  interaction of acid and alkaline brings  about  a struggle between the two which results in salt because both are chemical opposites.This interaction is very complex in our bodies as a result of the level or scale at which both meets. High level of acidic diet bring the pH level much lower and  as they are burned out and tired, the need  for a balance in the body arises. The acid foods makes the muscles fatigue easily because the body cannot provide the same  physical results as it used to be.

                        The occurrence of free radicals oxidation from excess intake of acidic foods makes you age faster. You sleep restful, maintain youthful skin and you are not likely to have cold, headache and flu as the eating of alkaline foods helps to promote physical energy in an enormous abundance.
                        In a nutshell, alkalizing your diet has many benefits like, cancer prevention, weight loss, avoidance of aging and other healthy beneficial condition which cannot be fully explored in this article.                           The body should have a pH which is slightly alkaline at about 7.4. If your pH is 7.00 it is neutral but a pH of below 7.00 is acid. A pH above 7.0 is alkaline. Your body’s health depends on a balance of an alkaline environment, which can be achieved by foods such as green vegetables, tomatoes and avocados, amongst others. It’s about striking a balance of 80/20 of alkaline/acid. 

                          If you have an acid pH, it can be caused by a variety of things such as a toxic overload of the immune system depriving the cells of oxygen and nutrients. The body’s way of compensating for it being too acid is to use alkaline minerals; therefore, if the diet does not contain enough of these minerals to compensate, it means a build up of acids in the cells. 

                          Why have bodies become out of balance? In my opinion, it is the ever changing world we live in, not to mention, goodness knows how many different diets, one of the worst culprits is processed food. that all seem to offer, that magic formula to turn you into the next super model. We can’t be so gullible! Can we? All of this has lead to rapidly growing cases of heart disease, cancer and diabetes, which just by chance, are happening due to the increased intake of acid forming foods such as saturated fats, sugars and white breads. 

                          Whilst everyone has been so busy eating these acid forming foods, they have forgotten about even the most basic of nutrition, so fresh vegetables and essential fatty acids have go by the wayside. Tragic consequences to children and grandchildren who are all walking around as obese as their parents. We have a generation addicted to sugary treats. 

                          Look around and what do you see? I will tell you, for those who have become somewhat short sited, either of those around them, or of themselves. The body has become bloated out of all recognition. Our bodies which are a miracle by the way, if, you would only take the time to think how marvellous it functions, or should I say, should function with all the excess fat taken away. For the sake of your health, sooner, rather than later you should change your diet to eating more alkaline foods. No more procrastinating, pretending that you feel fine, but you know you don’t! 

                          Changing one’s diet is not difficult, for, at the end of the day it is replacing bad habits with good habits and giving you back your health, that’s got to be good, hasn’t it? You will be able to age without aches, pains, headaches, lethargy and depression, allowing you to find your precious figures again.As I have said in so many articles, “we are what we eat”, its time to show an example, to those who are younger than you, how to eat a proper wholesome nutritious diet.

                          Come on, you know the foods that are good, low sugar foods, fresh vegetables, fruit, beans, grains etc. So, which are the foods that leave your body ill and needy? Yes, it’s a no- brainer, alcohol, meats, dairy, sweets and there are others. 

                          In other articles I have stressed how we are all different; unique in our own individual ways, but if you make sure you aim to eat 80% alkaline foods leaving you 20% of acid forming foods.No more calorie counting, simply know what is on your plate 80/20 ratio.

                           

                          Below is quick guide of the foods that will ultimately balance your body, don’t be tempted to go from one extreme to another. If you are going to start this journey, do it properly. 

                          Almonds, banana, blackberries, carrot, chives, cranberries, grapes, kale, peach pomegranate, plum, raspberries and spinach Lima beans, soy beans, green beans, peas, green vegetables, lentils, spices, seeds and grains, not forgetting nuts such as almonds and pine nuts.

                          Treat yourself to a juicer and experiment with different types of juices,  its a fabulous way of getting enzymes and nutritional content. – Barley grass, beet, celery, wheat grass, spinach, carrots. Etc. Research others too.

                           Acquaint yourself with acid foods, important to limit your intake but do not discard.Sugar cane, corn, wheat, drugs, soy noodles, spaghetti and other pasta( buy from health food shops) cheese, butter, cream wheat, maple syrup, sugar and honey, barley, bread, caffeine.( there are others) 

                          Modern lifestyle means that most do not have a balanced body, which is essential if you want to age without serious illness, aches and pains. For the sake of your future health lose weight by eating healthy diets. Introduce exercise and relaxation into your daily schedule. No more procrastinating, start now. 

                          If you continue the way you are going too much acidic food and not enough alkaline, you are depriving your body of minerals by decreasing the bodies ability to absorb minerals and nutrients. The body will become less able to repair damaged cells, decrease its ability to detoxify heavy metals. Cancer thrives in a pH that is less than 7. 

                          Over the last 20 years acidosis has become common in western society, mainly due to the typical Western European diet, which is eating too much dairy, too many eggs and meat, yet not enough alkaline foods, such as fresh vegetables. 

                          For most, eating too much processed food, drinking far too much coffee and soft drinks and finally taking too many chemical drugs.

                          Acid residues are not good for us. They are the culprits in causing different types of cancer. They produce malignant cells which signal the birth of cancer tissues.

                          Many chemicals such as nitrates are known to be ingredients of processed foods. Nitrates are known to be carcinogenic.

                          Maybe most of us were encouraged about the use of aspartame as sweeteners. Well, it is not a better sweetener though. These kinds of sweeteners are acid forming foods. They cause cell problems. If you want to lose weight, then you should not use them.

                          These sweeteners do not help you lose weight. In fact, they make you gain some more weight. It is because the acid residues or the acid molecules obtained from these sweeteners do bind with the fats. In effect, the fats are not eliminated out of the body.

                          If you want to ensure a better lifestyle, you need to avoid too much acid foods. You must always consider taking larger amount of alkaline forming foods.

                          Alkaline foods are vegetables and fruits. Most of the nuts and seeds also belong to alkalizing food. They are known to be healthy.

                          These types of food will boost your immune system. They have antioxidants which help fight unwanted free radicals in the body. These unwanted free radicals are often gained from the acid foods that we take in.

                          Alkaline food chart will be a big help to get back to a healthy lifestyle. You can see from here, the foods that you should take in greater amounts. You can also recognize what foods are not good for you.

                          If your health drinks of choice are those colorful vitamin waters and sport drinks, you will want to read this and pass it on, especially to anyone concerned about more alkaline foods in their diet. Look at the ingredients in most of those sports drinks and vitamin waters, and you cannot help but see they are far from being healthy drinks.

                          Next time you are searching for health drinks or alkaline foods, here are a few things to pass up:

                          * Phosphoric Acid is just what it says it is – acid. This is a definition of phosphoric acid: “A clear colorless liquid used in fertilizers, detergents, pharmaceuticals and food flavoring, irritating to the skin and eyes and moderately toxic if ingested.” When well balanced diet is supposed to be 80% alkaline foods and only 20% acid foods for proper pH balance, this really puts your body upside down.

                          * High Fructose Corn Syrup is only empty calories that promote weight gain and abnormal blood sugar levels, which may develop into diabetes. Excess sugars have no place in health drinks, and processed sugar is not present in any alkaline foods.

                          * Artificial Flavors are another problem ingredient. When artificial flavorings are in health drinks, they resemble soft drinks, candy and sugary juices. These artificial substances create a very acidic pH balance and create the need for more alkaline foods in order to neutralize the acid from artificial toxins.

                          * Artificial Sweeteners are just not needed in health drinks today. Because of the toxic nature of artificial sweeteners, scientists express concerns about their damaging effects on the human body. Many consumers now believe that artificial sweeteners may play a role in disorders of the brain, such as Alzheimer’s.

                          * Isolated Vitamins – When vitamins are isolated and produced in a lab, then added to so called health drinks, the nutrients break down before the body can absorb them. The human body needs vitamins and minerals from whole foods, not from so called health drinks that are really bottled, heated, highly processed waters with colorful dyes, and artificially created, synthetic vitamins and minerals.

                          When looking for quality health drinks, here are a few important things to ask yourself.

                          * Is it heated in the bottling process? If so then any enzymes have been destroyed, thus making it more difficult for the body to absorb and put the nutrients to work.

                          * Does it offer chlorophyll from plants to allow the cells more efficient oxygen absorption?

                          * Does it offer natural antioxidants that eliminate free radicals? Natural antioxidants are essential for anti-aging.

                          * Is it made with real whole food ingredients like fruits and herbs or other nutrient rich alkaline foods?
