So it is really quite easy to get enough protein on a vegetarian diet.
Another criticism related to this issue is calcium. Many people equate drinking milk with strong bones. However, American women consume an average of two pounds of milk per day and yet 30 million of them develop osteoporosis. If drinking milk helped make bones stronger, then the opposite would be true. A study conducted by Cornell-trained nutritionist Amy Joy Lanou showed that there was no specific link between dairy products and bone health in children and young adults. There are plenty of sources of calcium available in the alkalizing food categories that will provide protection against osteoporosis.
Many critics also claim that the emphasis on vegetables and fresh foods is the real reason behind the success that people receive from the diet. The pH miracle diet suggests eating almost 70 percent vegetables and acceptable fruits. At this level, whether you are eating alkalizing foods or not, anyone will have an improvement in health. Critics disregard the importance of the pH balance of the diet.
However, there have been many people who have experienced great results after eliminating wheat, an acidic food. It is unreasonable to expect anyone to do a complete 180-degree change in his or her eating habits overnight. Taking a slower approach to changing your diet will create longer and more successful results. If the diet is followed word for word, it is difficult at first because people are so used to eating a certain way. With time and practice though, you can move toward better health and a more pH balanced diet.

Acid forming foods include meat, fish, poultry, eggs, grains, legumes, white flour, refined sugars, dairy products, peanut butter, and chocolates.
An imbalance in the pH level (acid-alkaline) can affect your body. The body ought to be slightly alkaline for strength, endurance and energy. a) Fiber

If you want to follow a pH balance diet, you need to follow certain rules. Here are some rules that you must follow for an effective pH balance diet:
Rule 1
Your meal should not consist only acidifying foods. It should contain alkaline foods. You must not focus on a meal full of meat with pasta, fish and rice with cake and coffee for dessert. These are acidifying foods. Add a lot of vegetables in your meal such as salads, cooked vegetables and raw vegetables.
Rule 2
The amount of alkalizing foods should be high as compared to the acidifying foods at almost all meals. This makes sure that the acid levels are neutralized in the tissues and intestines. Here, the body will not require to draw from what it has already reserved.
Rule 3
You can go for an all alkaline vegetables and plant-based food as your diet option. However, it should be taken for only limited period and diet consisting only on vegetable cannot be continued for a long time because it will leave your body deplete of protein.
Rule 4
Take special care that your meal should not contain only acid foods. You must not depend on only eating fruits and yogurt or whey-based beverages. Your body may suffer from mineral depletion. Try to introduce a lot of fresh fruits, fresh cheeses, soft white cheeses, low fat cream cheeses, almonds, bananas, salad green and a combination of raw fruits and vegetables.
Rule 5
Do not eat acid foods too rapidly. Since, it is difficult to increase acid tolerance in a short period of time, try to increase the amount of acid foods in your diet slowly.
Rule 6
Acid foods, should be taken when your body is ready to receive them. If your body is not able to metabolize acids properly, you should not eat oranges and fruits in its morning. Have them in the afternoon or in the evening.
