As time goes by, the concern of having a balanced pH condition of our body has been significant to most people. However, for people who are not yet informed about the importance of having it, then it is the right time for them to learn about it and acquire optimum health. So as to achieve it, we must know alkaline vs acid diet.

Many people have already been thankful of the benefits they have gotten from the alkaline diet. They are now truly enjoying a more fulfilling life. You too, can have an enjoyable life which is free from stress and illnesses.

Alkaline vs acid diet is a key to having a healthy lifestyle. But, we must familiarize ourselves with the alkaline foods and acid foods. In addition, we should also understand the concept behind acid and alkaline foods before we ever learn how to make a list of what we should eat.

For sure, some of us are having misconception that citrus fruits such as lemons belong to acid foods. Well, in fact lemon is categorized under alkaline foods. Acid food does not mean that it is acidic in nature, what we mean by acid foods are those acid forming foods, wherein when digested, acid residues are produced rather than alkaline ash. Lemon is considered as alkaline forming food because it produces an alkaline ash that neutralizes acids inside our body.

In order to obtain optimum health, the alkaline to acid ratio must be 4:1. It is not difficult to figure out how to have this ratio, since it will be easy to see from our plates and categorize the food that we have under alkaline or acid forming foods.

Alkaline foods are mostly fresh vegetables and fruits while red meats, rice, pastries and dairy products belong to acid forming foods. There are few vegetables and fruits that belong to acid foods. Some alkaline rich fruits are banana, apples, pineapple, lemons and watermelon. Vegetables like asparagus, cabbage, lettuce, onion, cauliflower, spinach, turnips are some examples of alkaline foods. Processed foods are considered acid forming foods so they are not good to our body.

It is important that we observe our eating habit and follow the right amounts of alkaline and acid foods that we should take in. In doing so, our body will have a maintained pH balance which will help our body cells to function well and will free us from unwanted diseases which lead us to living a sedentary life.

Did you know that despite the fact that millions of people are suffering from gout, gout treatment medicine is still non – existent?

Yes believe it or not, the medicines you get in the market cannot be considered as gout treatment. This is because they only provide temporary relief to the pain and swelling caused by the attacks. And if that is not bad enough, here is something that will make it even worse. Did you know that excess intakes of these medicines may increase the level of uric acid in your body and eventually cause kidney malfunction?

But do not despair. It does not mean that since prescription medicine cannot help, gout patients are virtually hopeless. Gout can still be controlled and eventually be treated. How exactly?

For starters, it is absolutely important for you to know that the cause of this disease is uric acid. You see when you have a lot of this acid in the body, they have the tendency to accumulate in the cold parts of the body like joints and eventually form themselves into crystals. When these crystals create friction with the bones, they cause swelling in muscles and pain. And this pain is not something that you can usually tolerate. In worse cases of gout attack, patients complain that even the pressure caused by a thin blanket can cause excruciating pain.

Now that uric acid is singled out to be the primary cause of gout. The next step in gout treatment is knowing how to control the uric acid level in your body and dissolving the build up that has actually emerged through time. And this is done by doing the following:

1. If you want to prevent gout or lessen its effects, you should eat a balanced diet and gear towards a healthier lifestyle. This is important because majority of the uric acid in the body come from the food you eat. As such you should, try to avoid food rich in uric acid like meat, seafood, food rich in sugar and fat. What you should eat more are vegetables and fruits that are basic in nature. (Note: Basic here means food with pH levels within 6 – 10.)

2. If you are someone who is over the stage of prevention because you already have the disease. Gout treatment can be achieved by coupling the previous item with alkaline water. Why alkaline water?

Because apparently, based on scientific studies, alkali salts found in alkaline water is a compound that has the capability to dissolve the crystals of uric acid in the body. That in its own is quite impressive already right? But alkaline water has a lot more to offer. Scientists have also proven that alkaline water also control signs of aging because it is considered to be a powerful anti – oxidant.
Of course effects are not going to be instantaneous, you can still experience attacks even if you have gulped down gallons and gallons of alkaline water in a matter of three days. You have to keep in mind that the gout treatment process may take a little bit longer.

The Center of Disease Control and Prevention evaluates several health factors when it compiles its list of preventable causes of death. Among the expected conditions on the list were death from tobacco, death from alcohol consumption and death from drugs. However, surprisingly, poor diet and lack of physical activity is actually the number 2 cause of preventable death in the U.S. It is poised to take over the number 1 spot from tobacco in the coming years.

Poor diet and lack of exercise currently count for 16.6% of total deaths, or 400,000 deaths in the United States each year. Yet the last twenty to thirty years have been marked with an increased interest in dieting and exercise. Most adults, especially women, claim they are on diets at least once a year. Despite this commitment, the nation is continuing to get fatter. Obesity rates are at an all time high, and childhood obesity is on the rise for the first time ever.

If many people are on diets, but the vast majority of the population is still overweight and unhealthy, the problem lies with the diets that people are trying. The pH miracle diet addresses the missing ingredient in today’s diet that is causing people to gain weight even when they think they are eating healthfully. Conventional diets disregard the body’s natural pH. They encourage eating a variety of foods that are acidic to the body.

Low-fat diets fail because they often substitute sugar for fat. They also allow processed grain products, dairy products and acidifying vegetables. Low-carbohydrate diets fail because they emphasize meat and other dairy proteins, which knock the body’s natural pH off balance.

Dr. Robert Young, the creator of the pH miracle diet, explains that the best diet will address the pH factor. The body has a pH of 7.4, which is slightly alkaline. Eating alkaline foods and taking steps to reduce stress will help bring the body back into balance. Many of the conditions that people suffer from are a result from too much acidic waste in the body. This acidic waste builds up when you eat acid-producing foods, experience a lot of stress and ignore your body’s need for exercise.

Alkalizing the body with the pH miracle diet will bring your bodily pH back to normal and will give you relief from a variety of symptoms. However, you cannot alkalize your body if you continue to drink or eat high sugar drinks and fruits. Drinking alcohol will also disrupt the pH of your system, as will drinking coffee, soda and teas. The best beverage to drink for alkalizing is ionized water. Starchy foods like potatoes, pasta and breads all break down to sugar, and then produce acid waste that collects in the body. Eating any of the animal proteins (chicken, beef, pork, lamb etc) will create excess acid waste in your body as well. Dairy products have concentrated sugars that break down into lactic acid, which creates acidic waste.

Non-food related behaviors also increase the level of acidity in the body. If you don’t exercise regularly you are allow acids to build up in your tissues. These acids increase your fat production and cause lethargy.

The solution for the acidic waste and the cure for the second most prevalent preventable disease both lay in some simple steps. Eat whole, natural unprocessed foods as the basis for your diet. You should emphasize alkalizing green foods, which have the vitamins, minerals and nutrients your body needs to restore balance. Drinking pH alkaline water will help, as will daily exercise. You need to get out there and get moving in order to release the excess acid from your body.
